All our Instructors at the Ocean Quest Dive Center are highly qualified PADI & NAUI Instructors.  We offer classes ranging from a one-day Resort course through Rescue Diver and Divemaster. All our classes are personalized to the individual student and scheduled at your convenience. Usually our classes are very small, with one or two students, but we can arrange classes for groups of any size. We have a pool on site, and an overnight storage locker for your wet gear.

Some of the courses offered by Ocean Quest Dive Center require class work. The books and forms are included in the prices and will be shipped to you.  We have found that it is to your advantage to schedule any courses at least two weeks in advance.

SCUBA REVIEW

If it has been 18 months or more since your last dive, we recommend that you take a Scuba Review before you dive with us. We cover the basic skills necessary for safe and enjoyable diving. The course is completed in one day. You start in the pool where the Instructor or Divemaster will review and practice with you, all of the critical dive skills. You then go aboard one of our boats for a two-tank dive. On the first dive, your Instructor or Divemaster will accompany you and have you repeat the diving skills, then you are free to enjoy the rest of your dive trip on your own.

The price for this course is $175.00 per person and includes your two-tank dive trip. The price for the pool-only option is $95.

Discover Scuba Diving
Our very popular Discover Scuba Diving course is single day opportunity to try out Scuba diving. It is not a certification course, but a chance to try Scuba diving. In the pool, you will learn the basics of how to use the gear, and will go out on the boat for two fantastic dives. The price is $200.00 for one person, $175 each for two people, and $150 each for three or more, which includes all gear rental and boat fees.
OPEN WATER DIVER (15+), JR OPEN WATER DIVER (10-14)

This course is conducted over a four day period, and you set the pace. The first two days are spent in class sessions and the pool. The last two days are the open water part of your course and are spent diving on the reefs. When you have completed this course, you will be a certified Open Water Diver (ages 15+), or a Junior Open Water Diver (ages 10-14).

This certification is for life and allows you to dive to depths up to 60 feet. After certification, a 10 or 11-year-old Junior Open Water Diver must dive with a parent, guardian or PADI Professional. Dives must not exceed 12m/40 feet. A 12 to 14-year-old Junior Open Water Diver or Junior Scuba Diver is qualified to dive only when accompanied by another certified diver who is of legal age. Dives must not exceed 18m/60 feet.

The price is $475.00 per person which includes all gear rental and boat fees. Group rates are available. Note: If you select PADI eLearning to complete the academic portion online, our price is $375 for the pool and open water dives.

ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER

This two-day course is centered around deep dives and navigation, along with three electives from the Adventure Dives of Drift Diving, Night Diving, Diver Propulsion Vehicles, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, Underwater naturalist, Underwater Photography, and Wreck Diving. Sorry, but we do not offer Cavern, High Altitude, or Ice Diving in the Florida Keys! When you have completed this course, you will be a certified Advanced Diver. This certification allows you to make dives, such as some wrecks and deep dives, below 60 feet down to 100 feet.

The price is $395.00 per person with our gear and $350 with your gear, including all boat fees. Note: If you select PADI eLearning to complete your academic work online, the price is $295 for the dives.

RESCUE DIVER

For the certified Advanced Diver, this three-day course is designed to expand your knowledge of diving, increase your level of diving skills, and enhance your awareness of what is happening around you in the diving environment. Most importantly, rescue training can help you save lives and increase diving safety by preparing you to respond properly to diving emergencies. This course is taught on our boats, during four dives, in real conditions that exist in everyday diving. This gives you a better feel for the skills requirements of this certification, as well as "real time" insight from our excellent diving professionals. We require that you own and use your own dive gear for this course; tanks and weights are provided.

The price is $425 including all boat fees.

MASTER SCUBA DIVER
With the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating, you reach the highest non professional level in the PADI System of diver education. It means that you have acquired significant training and experience in a variety of dive environments. In order to receive the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating, you must be at least 12 years old, have your Advanced Open Water and your Rescue diver certifications, have at least five PADI Specialty courses, and be able to show at least 50 logged dives. Because the Master Scuba Diver rating is not a course per-se but an acknowledgment of having completed all the requirements, there is no set price because it varies by student. We can teach all of the necessary components to help you achieve this coveted rating.
Divemaster

As the entry to professional levels in diver training, the PADI Divemaster course plays a pivotal role within the PADI System of diver education. Those who join the PADI Divemaster ranks assist instructors with training student divers. They supervise diving activities for certified divers, snorkelers and skin divers. Many PADI Divemasters are looking ahead, gaining professional experience they will apply as PADI Assistant Instructors and Open Water Scuba Instructors.

Tuition for this five-day course is $795, materials are $189, and PADI Fees are $73.50.

ENRICHED AIR NITROX (EANx)

This one-day course consists of class work and one two-tank dive. After successfully completing the course you will be certified to use Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) blends on your dives.

Our Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) course includes a two-tank dive tripIf you do the course on-site, our price is $250.00. If you prefer to do the academic portion of the course on-line using PADI eLearning, we provide the practical application (dive planning, gas analysis, fill procedures), an EANx upgrade, and your certification for free.

PADI Diving Society members receive a free gift from the Society for completing the specialty of the month, and the specialty of the month is always 10% off for Society members! Snorkeling / Skin Diving
Enjoy the underwater world by peering beneath the water's surface while snorkeling or skin diving. Both our Snorkeling and Skin diving courses start in the pool to learn the skills, then go out on the boat to the beautiful coral reefs to practice your new skills.

Our Snorkeling course teaches you how to use the mask, fins, and snorkel so you can better enjoy your snorkeling trip.
Snorkelers stay on the surface. This is not a certification course. It is an experience and may be repeated as many times as you wish. $75 per person includes pool instruction, gear and boat fees.

The PADI Skin Diver course results in a PADI Certification. Students gain proficiency in surface dives, equalization and ascent techniques.
Skin divers are able to dive down and explore the underwater world using just mask, fins, and snorkel (and sometimes a wetsuit and weights). $95 per person includes pool instruction, gear, boat fees and certification.
Bubblemaker / Seal Team programs
For children age eight to nine

The PADI Bubblemaker program (minimum 8 years old) introduces scuba as an activity that allows children to experience the underwater world. Under close supervision, participants swim around on scuba in our pool, just playing. Colorful Bubblemaker emblems, decals, towels and toys along with a distinctive recognition certificate and card make the experience one to remember. The price is $95 per student for the half-day program.

The PADI Seal Team program (minimum 8 years old) keeps youngsters diving, learning and having fun until they are ready to enroll in the PADI Junior Scuba Diver course. Five Aqua-missions required for completion; 15 Aqua-missions comprise the entire extended program. The price for the first five Aqua-missions is $195 per student. This program is two half-days. Each additional Aqua mission (6-15) is $40, and can be completed in a half-day.
Divers Alert Network courses (DAN)
Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries
As a recreational diver, you can receive training to provide vital first aid that can make a difference to a scuba diver with decompression illness. The DAN Oxygen Provider Course provides entry-level training in the recognition and management of possible diving-related injuries using emergency oxygen first aid. Price of course is $95 including materials
for this half-day course.

Advanced Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries
This advanced-level program is designed to train existing DAN Oxygen Providers to use the MTV-100 or a Bag Valve Mask while providing care for a non-breathing injured diver.
Price of course is $95 including materials for this half-day course. (Three week advance notice required).

First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries
Serious hazardous marine life injuries are rare, but most divers experience minor discomfort from unintentional encounters with fire coral, jellyfish and other marine creatures. This course teaches divers to minimize these injuries and reduce diver discomfort and pain.
Price of course is $95 including materials for this half-day course.

Automated External Defibrillators for Scuba Diving
More than 10 percent of all dive fatalities are actually caused by cardiovascular disease, according to DAN dive accident and fatality statistics. This course teaches divers and other interested parties to provide care for sudden cardiac arrest including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AEDs).
Price of course is $95 including materials for this half-day course.

On-Site Neurological Assessment for Divers
Learn how to conduct a neurological assessment on a potentially injured diver in this course. The information gained in this assessment can help convince a diver of the need for oxygen first aid, and help a dive physician determine the proper treatment.
Price of course is $95 including materials for this half-day course.

Diving Emergency Management Provider Program
Learn the knowledge and skills from several courses into one single approach to dive emergency management. Special price of $295 includes course materials for this full day course.

Emergency First Response courses (EFR)
Primary Care (CPR) teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies. The course focuses on primary care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide care when emergency situations arise. Price for this half-day course is $95 including materials.

Secondary Care (first aid)
covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. Participants focus on secondary assessment and first aid through knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice.
Price for this half-day course is $95 including materials.
